Job Description
The Switch Engineer ensures reliable operation of payment switch platforms by configuring, testing, and maintaining transaction processing systems. Responsibilities include managing ISO‑8583 messaging, implementing business rules, and supporting card lifecycle operations while adhering to PCI‑DSS standards. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and three to five years of experience in payment systems. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) or equivalent with a professional certificate.
- • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in payment processing, switch configuration or related ICT roles.
- • Proven knowledge of ISO 8583 messaging, API integration, and card management.
- • Familiarity with PCI‑DSS security requirements.
- • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

- • Configure and manage payment switch platforms such as Postilion to ensure accurate transaction flow.
- • Support ISO 8583 messaging protocols and APIs during system integrations.
- • Implement and monitor business rules and routing logic to optimize network performance.
- • Provide post‑go‑live support and troubleshoot issues to maintain system stability.
- • Manage card lifecycle processes, including issuance and e‑channel services.
- • Ensure compliance with PCI‑DSS security standards throughout operations.
