Job Description
The System Engineer designs, implements and maintains enterprise server, storage and virtualization environments for Computech Limited. Responsibilities include hardware installation, SAN administration, VMware management and ensuring system security and reliability.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
- • Professional certifications such as VMware VCP or Linux certifications are a plus
- • Minimum five years of hands‑on experience with enterprise infrastructure, storage and virtualization
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Install, rack, cable, troubleshoot, replace, audit and decommission enterprise server and storage hardware
- • Administer SAN environments, including LUN provisioning, snapshots, replication, performance tuning and capacity planning
- • Manage VMware vSphere and Oracle VM: VM deployment, resource allocation, templates, HA/DRS clusters, migrations, patching and upgrades
- • Install, configure, tune and harden RHEL, Oracle Linux and Oracle Solaris systems to security standards
- • Plan and execute OS, hypervisor and firmware patching following change‑control procedures
- • Monitor infrastructure health, capacity and performance
- perform preventive maintenance and environmental checks
- • Validate and troubleshoot backups using Commvault and Veeam
- • Provide Tier 2/3 support for server, storage and OS incidents, collaborating with onsite teams
