Job Description
The Technical Operator ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of utility plant and equipment, including pumps, compressors, boilers, water and steam systems. They monitor performance data, conduct inspections, and perform first‑line preventive and corrective maintenance. The role supports equipment reliability, energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives while complying with EHS and client safety standards. Certification in boiler operations is advantageous.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification
- • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in plant operations and maintenance, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing or industrial utilities
- • Certification in Boiler Operations/Maintenance and/or Equipment Calibration is an added advantage
- • Practical experience operating and maintaining boilers, pumps, compressors, steam, water, fuel and related utility systems

Responsibilities
- • Operate, monitor and maintain utility plant and equipment to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operations
- • Record and analyze plant operating parameters, hourly readings and equipment performance data
- • Monitor boiler operations, steam generation, distribution networks and condensate recovery
- • Conduct routine and weekly inspections of boilers, pumps, compressors, valves and related systems
- • Perform first‑line preventive and corrective maintenance with proper risk assessment
- • Monitor fluid levels (water, gas, oil, fuel) and promptly escalate abnormalities
- • Inspect and maintain burners and boiler safety controls
- • Identify steam leaks, energy losses and performance gaps, initiating corrective work orders
- • Maintain accurate equipment failure and recovery records and recommend solutions
- • Support initiatives to improve equipment reliability, availability and maintenance cost optimization
- • Implement continuous improvement opportunities for energy efficiency and waste reduction
- • Process work orders and assist with parts inventory monitoring
- • Comply with EHS, OSHA, HACCP and GMP standards, promoting a zero‑harm culture
- • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and operational improvement activities
- • Escalate abnormal plant conditions, operational risks and safety concerns promptly
- • Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by management
