Job Description
The Technical Sales Representative generates new business for raw‑material solutions, conducts technical product presentations, and supports customers throughout the sales cycle. The role collaborates with internal teams to ensure accurate order fulfilment and monitors market trends to drive growth in the chemicals sector.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Degree or diploma in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science or a related field
- • Experience in technical sales or business development within chemicals, cosmetics or related industries (preferred)
- • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- • Commercially minded, proactive, self‑driven and target‑oriented
- • Ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into solutions
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Identify and develop new customers and business opportunities for raw‑material solutions
- • Generate leads through prospecting, networking, market research and customer visits
- • Conduct regular on‑site visits and sales calls to build strong relationships with prospects
- • Assess customer formulation and production requirements and recommend appropriate chemicals
- • Deliver product presentations and provide technical and application support
- • Coordinate samples, trials, quotations and follow‑up to convert leads into sales
- • Grow existing accounts through cross‑selling, upselling and new product introductions
- • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing and customer needs
- • Maintain accurate customer and sales data in the CRM system
- • Prepare sales reports, manage the pipeline and provide forecasts
- • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse and finance teams to ensure timely order fulfilment
