Job Description
The Trainer in Clinical Medicine and Surgery will develop and deliver curriculum content, provide hands‑on clinical training, and supervise students during practical rotations. They will also assess student performance, mentor learners, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while contributing to research activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution
- • Valid practicing licence from the Clinical Officers Council
- • Minimum three years of relevant clinical and teaching experience
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Participate in the development, instruction, and delivery of the Clinical Medicine and Surgery curriculum
- • Deliver lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical training sessions
- • Provide hands‑on training in clinical skills, including patient examination, diagnostic procedures, and surgical techniques
- • Supervise and guide students during practical and clinical training to ensure safe skill acquisition
- • Organize and oversee clinical rotations in hospitals and health centres
- • Coordinate with healthcare facilities to facilitate and monitor student clinical placements
- • Prepare and administer examinations, assignments, and practical assessments
- • Evaluate students’ academic and clinical progress and provide constructive feedback
- • Mentor students and offer academic, professional, and career guidance
- • Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, assessments, and competencies
- • Ensure teaching, assessment, and clinical activities comply with regulatory and professional standards
- • Participate in research and scholarly activities to advance medical education
- • Contribute actively to departmental meetings and academic initiatives
