Job Description
The Transport Lead will manage daily transport operations, ensuring safe, compliant and cost‑effective movement of goods. Responsibilities include overseeing fleet performance, optimizing routing, and leading transport teams to meet service standards. The role also involves stakeholder coordination and continuous improvement of operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) or Diploma in logistics, supply chain or related field.
- • Minimum 3–5 years experience in transport or logistics management.
- • Strong knowledge of fleet operations and transportation management systems.
- • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead and coordinate daily transport activities to meet customer and business requirements.
- • Monitor fleet utilisation and optimise vehicle routing, load planning and allocation.
- • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- • Track shipments and vehicle status using transportation management systems.
- • Ensure on‑time collection and delivery of shipments.
- • Resolve operational issues and service disruptions promptly.
- • Supervise transport controllers, planners, drivers and support staff.
- • Conduct daily briefings and performance reviews.
- • Coach and develop team members to improve capability.
