Job Description
The Water Supply Technician II provides operation and maintenance of water purification and distribution systems to ensure safe drinking water. The technician monitors water quality, operates treatment equipment, and performs routine maintenance on pumps, valves and filter beds. The role also involves chemical dosing, data recording and communication of operational status to site management. Candidates must have a diploma and at least two years of relevant experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Water Supply, Environmental Engineering or related field
- • Minimum two years of experience in water treatment or utility operations
- • Knowledge of water quality standards and chemical handling procedures
- • Ability to operate and maintain mechanical equipment safely
- • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Operate water purification equipment to produce potable water
- • Monitor and control pumps, valves and filter beds to maintain production levels
- • Dose chemicals for disinfection, sterilisation and clarification of raw water
- • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of tanks, filters and related equipment
- • Test water samples and record quality data for compliance reporting
- • Communicate project status, issues and requirements to site management
- • Follow established safety procedures and operational protocols
- • Enter operational data into automated information systems as required
