Job Description
The Welding Technician will perform high‑quality welding on stove components, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with production standards. The role supports production efficiency through collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field
- • Minimum of 2–4 years experience in welding or metal fabrication, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- • Proficiency with MIG, TIG and ARC welding techniques
- • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding symbols
- • Knowledge of metallurgy, material properties and use of jigs, fixtures and gauges
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Perform top‑ring welding according to approved drawings, ensuring alignment, dimensional accuracy and minimal distortion
- • Weld metal frames for institutional stoves, maintaining squareness, flatness and structural integrity
- • Support automated welding processes by assisting with machine set‑up, trials and troubleshooting
- • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimise welding parameters, fixtures and cycle times
- • Maintain safety compliance and contribute to continuous‑improvement activities on the shop floor
