Job Description
The Women’s Economic Empowerment Manager will lead the Regional Livestock Programme, designing and implementing gender‑transformative strategies to improve economic outcomes for women, youth and marginalized groups across Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. The role oversees programme design, monitoring, and learning within a market‑systems framework, and coordinates with partners, technical teams and results‑measurement units. Strong leadership, gender expertise and extensive experience in GESI and agribusiness are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • MBA, MSc or MA degree
- • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in senior GESI roles
- • Proven experience in agricultural or livestock programmes and market‑systems development
- • Demonstrated ability to lead gender‑transformative initiatives and manage multi‑country projects

Responsibilities
- • Lead design, implementation, and oversight of the programme’s Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy within a Market Systems Development framework
- • Integrate gender‑transformative and socially inclusive approaches across all programme components
- • Strengthen the quality and effectiveness of women’s economic empowerment interventions
- • Generate and use evidence to support adaptive management, learning and decision‑making
- • Oversee development of gender‑responsive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems
- • Coordinate with technical teams, partners, and results‑measurement teams to ensure impact measurement and knowledge sharing
