Job Description
The Feed Technical Officer provides expert guidance to farmers and customers on optimal feed usage and livestock nutrition. Responsibilities include conducting farm visits, troubleshooting feed‑related issues, collecting samples for analysis, supporting product trials, and preparing technical reports. The role works closely with sales, quality, production and operations teams to resolve technical matters and improve product performance. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in animal science or a related discipline and has experience in the animal‑feed industry.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Livestock Production, Agriculture or a related technical discipline
- • Practical knowledge of animal feeds, feed ingredients and livestock production
- • Relevant experience within the animal feed industry
- • Exposure to dairy, poultry, swine or other livestock production environments is an advantage
- • Experience providing customer or technical support in the animal feed sector is preferred
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Provide technical guidance to customers and farmers on appropriate feed usage and livestock feeding practices
- • Conduct farm and customer visits together with sales and other technical teams
- • Investigate and resolve feed‑related customer complaints
- • Collect samples and coordinate analysis with quality, laboratory and production teams
- • Monitor feed and product performance and deliver structured feedback to internal teams
- • Support product trials, technical demonstrations and customer follow‑ups
- • Train farmers and customers on feed usage, livestock management and good feeding practices
- • Prepare technical reports covering visits, observations, product performance and recommended actions
- • Collaborate with sales, quality, production and operations teams to address technical issues affecting customers
