Job Description
The MEAL Assistant supports the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning team in managing project data, ensuring data quality and facilitating reporting. Responsibilities include data collection, verification, database maintenance and assisting with community feedback mechanisms. The role requires strong analytical skills and experience with statistical software.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND or equivalent degree
- • Minimum 2 years experience working with INGO or UN agencies in development programmes
- • Experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, including field postings
- • Technical expertise in data analysis software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, ATLAS)
- • Proficiency in mobile data collection tools (e.g., CommCare, KoboCollect)
- • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and statistical skills
- • Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili
- knowledge of Nandi is a plus
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Collect, organise and verify project data for accuracy before entry into the database
- • Maintain and troubleshoot the MRV (CommCare) system to ensure effective operation
- • Oversee data reporting, provide summaries and monitor trends as requested
- • Keep an updated database of all programme data and retrieve information for reporting
- • Maintain monitoring action tracker and indicator performance tables
- • Participate in report writing and provide feedback to supervisors and field staff
- • Facilitate community feedback sessions, focus group discussions and semi‑structured interviews
