Job Description
The Visual Arts teacher designs and delivers engaging MYP and DP art lessons, guiding students through studio projects, comparative studies, and process portfolios. They foster critical thinking by introducing diverse artistic traditions and contemporary practices. Assessment follows IB criteria, providing constructive feedback, while also organizing exhibitions and supporting pastoral activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Art Education or a related field
- • Valid teaching certification or license
- • Experience teaching Visual Arts at secondary or international school level, preferably MYP/DP
- • Strong knowledge of IB MYP and DP arts curricula
- • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- • Ability to mentor students and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities
- • Plan and deliver inspiring Visual Arts lessons aligned to MYP Arts and DP Visual Arts frameworks
- • Guide students in developing studio work, comparative study, and process portfolio for DP and MYP arts unit planners
- • Foster critical and contextual thinking by exposing students to diverse artistic traditions, movements, and contemporary practices
- • Support students in presenting cohesive, personally meaningful bodies of work for internal and external assessment
- • Assess student work using MYP criteria and DP assessment requirements, providing timely and constructive feedback
- • Collaborate with Arts and Humanities colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- • Organise and support school art exhibitions, displays, and events showcasing student creativity
- • Contribute to pastoral duties, co‑curricular activities, and the wider school community
