Job Description
The Master Sofa/Upholstery Technical Lead will direct the design and production of high‑quality sofas, overseeing all stages from frame construction to final upholstery. The role leads a team of craftsmen, ensures quality control, and mentors staff to maintain superior manufacturing standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Extensive experience as a senior upholsterer, team leader or production supervisor
- • Proven ability to design and execute sofa constructions
- • Strong knowledge of foam properties, fabric handling and leather upholstery
- • Demonstrated leadership and training capabilities
- • Ability to maintain high quality standards in a manufacturing environment
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Produce high‑quality sofas from frame construction through final upholstery
- • Develop new sofa designs from sketches, drawings or concepts
- • Select and shape foam, determining density and comfort specifications
- • Cut fabrics, create patterns, sew, pipe and apply premium finishes
- • Work with genuine leather for specialized upholstery projects
- • Supervise production processes and enforce quality control standards
- • Train and mentor other craftsmen, fostering skill development
- • Lead the sofa production team and help establish efficient production systems
