Job Description
The Assistant Investigator supports the Head of Investigations by managing case assignments, conducting interviews, gathering evidence and preparing detailed reports. The role requires strong analytical abilities, adherence to investigative procedures and effective communication with stakeholders in Meru and Laikipia counties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or degree in Law, Criminology, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Conflict Resolution, Public Administration or a related field
- • Prior experience in investigation, legal, compliance or human rights work (preferred)
- • Current or former resident of Meru County or Laikipa County
- • Fluency in English, Kiswahili and Kimeru
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Receive case assignments from the Head of Investigations
- • Review complaints and develop investigation plans for each case
- • Conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, witnesses and other relevant parties
- • Gather and verify facts and documents related to investigations
- • Perform field visits and collect evidence in line with established procedures
- • Prepare accurate investigation notes and comprehensive reports
- • Maintain organized investigation files and records
- • Present findings and recommendations to the Head of Investigations
