Job Description

The Automotive Technician / Tyre Management System Intern will support the implementation and continuous improvement of a tyre management system across multiple locations. Duties include conducting daily tyre inspections, maintaining accurate inventory records, and preparing tyres for retreading or disposal. Interns will gain hands‑on experience with tyre fitting, rim refurbishment and performance monitoring while working alongside experienced technicians.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Diploma in Automotive Engineering (mandatory).
  • • At least one year of exposure to tyre inspection, maintenance or fleet management.
  • • Basic knowledge of Tyre Management Systems (TMS) is advantageous.
  • • Familiarity with tyre management software is a plus.
  • • Strong analytical, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • • Support the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the Tyre Management System (TMS).
  • • Capture and maintain accurate records of tyre usage, inventory, wear trends, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • • Conduct daily tyre inspections, checking pressure, tread depth, defects and related mechanical issues.
  • • Prepare worn‑out tyres for retreading and repairs.
  • • Prepare scrap tyres for analysis and proper disposal.
  • • Ensure correct tyre fitting procedures and appropriate tyre application.
  • • Clean and refurbish rims before fitting new tyres.
  • • Monitor and evaluate the performance of new and retreaded tyres.
  • • Coordinate daily tyre removals, rotations, puncture repairs and replacements.
  • • Maintain accurate records of tyres and batteries issued to customers.
  • • Ensure proper use, care and maintenance of company tools and equipment.
  • • Prepare daily operational records and monthly technical reports on TMS activities.
