Job Description
The Loan Officer Intern will support micro‑finance operations by acquiring new customers, conducting credit assessments and assisting with loan processing and disbursement. The role also involves maintaining accurate client records and monitoring repayment performance under the guidance of senior staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • KCSE Certificate
- • Diploma or degree in any relevant field
- • Valid national ID
- • Strong interest in sales, lending and customer service
- • Computer literacy
- • Ability to work with targets and deadlines
- • Previous micro‑finance experience is an advantage
- • Age 30 years or below
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Identify and acquire new customers through field visits, referrals and market engagement
- • Conduct KYC, business assessments and basic credit appraisals for onboarding
- • Process loan applications and follow up on approvals and timely disbursement
- • Achieve targets for customer acquisition, loan disbursement and portfolio growth
- • Educate clients on loan terms, repayment schedules and responsible borrowing
- • Monitor repayment performance and flag early signs of challenges
- • Collaborate with verification and collections teams to ensure quality lending
- • Maintain accurate customer records and submit regular reports and market feedback
