Job Description
The Optometrist provides comprehensive eye care, including vision testing, diagnosis of ocular conditions and prescription of corrective lenses. Responsibilities also cover patient education, low‑vision rehabilitation and support for pre‑ and post‑operative eye surgery care. The role requires meticulous instrument handling and collaboration with ophthalmologists.

- • Assess, plan and implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient outcomes
- • Diagnose and manage ocular pathologies such as cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy
- • Perform vision tests, analyse results and prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses
- • Provide vision therapy, low‑vision rehabilitation and post‑operative care
- • Counsel patients on eye health, contact lens care and preventive measures
- • Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments and assist in basic procedures
- • Manage patient records, referrals and complaints
