Job Description

The Paralegal Assistant provides comprehensive support to lawyers by conducting legal research, drafting documents, and managing case files. Responsibilities include maintaining confidential records, tracking court deadlines, and assisting with the preparation and filing of legal paperwork. The role also handles client communications and general office administration to ensure efficient legal operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal Studies or a related field
  • • Prior experience as a Paralegal Assistant or in a law office
  • • Good knowledge of legal research, document preparation and case‑file management
  • • Strong research, writing, organization and attention‑to‑detail skills
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and document management tools

Responsibilities

  • • Conduct legal research and summarize relevant laws, regulations, case law and precedents
  • • Draft, review, format and organize legal documents and correspondence
  • • Prepare case summaries, legal briefs and other materials as directed by the supervising lawyer
  • • Maintain accurate and confidential physical and electronic case files and legal records
  • • Track case deadlines, court dates, appointments, filings and other important legal activities
  • • Assist with document filing, retrieval and preparation of materials required for hearings and client matters
  • • Support lawyers with scheduling, correspondence, client communication and general office administration
  • • Prepare and submit legal documents to courts, government offices and other relevant institutions
  • • Handle confidential client information professionally and in accordance with applicable legal and ethical requirements
