Job Description

The Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations, ensuring output meets quality, efficiency and safety standards. They coordinate work schedules, monitor machinery, and manage raw‑material supply while maintaining accurate records and compliance with food‑safety regulations. The role involves inspecting products, supervising staff, and collaborating with maintenance to minimise downtime. Reporting to the Assistant Production Manager, the supervisor drives continuous improvement and waste reduction.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Diploma in Food Science, Production Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably food processing
  • • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, CCPs, OPRPs and PRPs
  • • Good understanding of production processes, machinery and equipment
  • • Familiarity with food‑safety standards and relevant regulations
  • • Knowledge of workplace safety, chemical handling, sanitiser use and waste disposal
  • • Awareness of emergency production‑stop procedures
  • • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and decision‑making abilities

Responsibilities

  • • Oversee daily production operations to achieve output, quality, efficiency and compliance targets
  • • Monitor machines, production lines and process indicators to ensure SOP adherence
  • • Plan work schedules, team assignments and processing sequences
  • • Inspect materials, products and equipment for defects or malfunctions
  • • Maintain accurate production, time, cost and performance records
  • • Inspect work areas for hygiene and safety compliance
  • • Coordinate timely supply of raw materials to production lines
  • • Document raw‑material, in‑process and finished‑product records
  • • Ensure machinery and tools are cleaned according to approved sanitiser procedures
  • • Supervise production activities to meet organisational and regulatory specifications
  • • Confirm completion of maintenance activities on all equipment
  • • Review production orders and schedules to plan operations
  • • Analyse quality reports and coordinate adjustments with the Assistant Production Manager
  • • Monitor packaging, conduct weight checks and verify labeling details
  • • Deliver output on time with minimal waste while maintaining product quality and food‑safety compliance
  • • Analyse performance data, identify issues and implement corrective actions
  • • Liaise with maintenance to resolve breakdowns promptly
  • • Update the Assistant Production Manager on daily activities and challenges
  • • Verify critical control points, operational prerequisite programmes and prerequisite programmes
  • • Conduct monthly stock takes and reconcile physical inventory
