Job Description
The Social Worker will manage child and family cases, conducting assessments, developing care plans and facilitating family tracing, strengthening, and reintegration. They will also act as Home Manager when required and ensure trauma‑informed, safe care for children in the residential home.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Faithful to the vision and mission of AIC‑Chariots for Hope
- • Mature Christian with a good testimony and pastor’s recommendation
- • Diploma in Social Work, Social Development, Community Development, Child Care & Protection (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- • 2–3 years relevant professional experience in child protection, case management or residential child care
- • Knowledge of Kenya’s Children Act 2022 and child safeguarding procedures
- • Demonstrated high assessment and analytical abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Manage individual child case files, assessments and care plans, including pre‑admission documentation
- • Conduct family tracing, verify caregiver information and facilitate family strengthening activities
- • Oversee reintegration and transition of children to safe family or community‑based care
- • Provide post‑placement monitoring and support
- • Act as Home Manager in the manager’s absence
- • Deliver trauma‑informed care and contribute to the home’s shift towards family‑based care
