Job Description
The Verification Officer Intern conducts desk verification of loan applicants, checks identity, business and residence information, and flags inconsistencies or potential fraud. They prepare verification reports, maintain accurate records and support early repayment follow‑up, gaining practical experience in micro‑finance risk assessment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
- • Computer competency.
- • Strong interest in verification, credit risk, compliance and financial services.
- • Previous experience in micro‑finance is an added advantage.
- • Applicants should be 30 years of age or below.
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Conduct desk verification of customer identity, business, residence and referee information.
- • Verify customer documents, contact details and business operations submitted during loan applications.
- • Cross‑check information and identify inconsistencies, misrepresentation or potential fraud.
- • Assess and report identified risks, discrepancies and red flags before loan approval.
- • Ensure applications meet KYC and verification requirements.
- • Maintain accurate and complete verification records in the company’s systems.
- • Prepare clear verification reports and communicate findings to the relevant team.
- • Support early repayment follow‑up where required and escalate identified customer risks to the supervisor.
- • Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling customer and company information.
