Job Description
The Cook will prepare and present luxury‑standard dishes for guests at a renowned safari camp, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and adherence to dietary requirements. Responsibilities include managing mise en place, covering hot‑kitchen stations, and supporting other kitchen areas while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The role requires a minimum of two years experience in a 4‑ or 5‑star hospitality setting and a willingness to live on‑site with rotating shifts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Minimum of 2 years experience as a cook in a 4‑star or 5‑star hotel, lodge, or safari camp
- • Ability to work accurately and hygienically under service pressure
- • Fluent spoken and written English
- • Willingness to live on‑site and work rotating shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- • Calm, team‑first attitude and reliable adherence to standards and integrity

- • Prepare and cook dishes to a consistent luxury standard
- • Cover hot‑kitchen/entremetier duties such as soups, vegetables, eggs, sides, and vegetarian plates
- • Maintain mise en place, timing, and presentation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- • Honor dietary needs and special requests as briefed
- • Follow food safety, hygiene, and portion‑control standards
- • Support other kitchen stations and bush dining when required
- • Keep your section clean, organized, and ready for the next service
- • Protect stock, equipment, and maintain a professional kitchen atmosphere
