Job Description
The IT Manager will provide strategic leadership for all information technology functions, ensuring systems, infrastructure, and security align with institutional goals. Responsibilities include developing IT roadmaps, overseeing operations, managing risk, and driving digital innovation across the organization. The role also involves budgeting, vendor management, and fostering a high‑performing IT team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND (or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- MBA/MSc/MA preferred
- • Minimum 10 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within healthcare, higher education, or a similar sector
- • Proven track record of developing and implementing enterprise‑wide IT strategies
- • Strong expertise in cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory compliance
- • Demonstrated ability to manage complex vendor contracts and large‑scale IT budgets

Responsibilities
- • Develop and execute the enterprise IT strategy and roadmap aligned with institutional objectives
- • Collaborate with academic, clinical, and administrative units to identify IT needs and prioritize projects
- • Oversee IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, databases, and end‑user support
- • Lead cybersecurity programs, data privacy initiatives, and compliance with relevant regulations
- • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service delivery standards
- • Monitor IT performance metrics, service levels, and emerging risks, reporting to senior leadership
- • Promote IT governance, policies, and best practices across the institution
- • Drive digital enablement, automation, and analytics to support remote learning and telemedicine
- • Manage the IT budget, optimise costs, and ensure efficient resource utilisation
- • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
